Comparex Africa, one of SA`s leading IT companies, has signed a contract with MTN Network Solutions, a tier-one network service provider, for the provision of Internet access services for the Comparex group.
The service includes connectivity from the Comparex Midrand Campus to MTN NS`s two Johannesburg nodes in Randburg and Rosebank. The dual connectivity implemented allows equal cost load balanced Internet access for Comparex, ensuring high availability at all times.
As part of the solution, MTN NS has established a full MPLS-enabled node at Comparex, allowing Comparex to introduce VPN services into its group companies and network clients.
Phil Connolly, Manager, Strategic Outsourcing for Comparex, said: "Changing ISP is not a simple exercise, but after a comprehensive review of the MTN NS infrastructure and capability, we were highly impressed with MTN NS`s network infrastructure and architecture and were confident to make the move. The actual cut-over project ran very smoothly."
Louise Peruch, the Comparex Corporate Business Executive for Johnnic/MTN who was a driving force in instigating the move to MTN NS, commented: "This is more than just a supplier relationship with MTN NS, and we see this as the start of a much greater partnership with the Johnnic/MTN group. We are in talks on many fronts to explore joint business opportunities between the groups."
"Comparex is a blue chip client for us, and this new contract demonstrates to the corporate market that MTN NS has the network and capability to take on any sized account. Comparex, a Cisco Gold Partner, went through a review process of MTN NS`s network to assure itself that MTN NS has the skills, capacity and processes to take on its business. The superior connectivity solution, the provision of the MPLS node, and a smooth cut-over - all professionally project managed, vindicated Comparex`s confidence in MTN NS," says Mike Brierley, CEO of MTN NS.
