Datacare makes acquisitions
Datacare, which recently developed a software package that assists companies in meeting their corporate compliance obligations, is now looking at acquisitions, reports the UK's Times Online.
The company's biggest market is in America where Coca-Cola, Shell, Ford and Wal-Mart are all clients. Datacare recently began to focus on developing its European dimension. The company's target market is the financial services sector and, within the past 18 months, it has entered the German, Swiss and Dutch banking sectors.
Global Corporate Manager, which was developed in 2001, was always intended to be a suite of products and last August saw an extension launched aimed at company secretaries. In recent months, the firm has begun discussions about a possible acquisition.
IT governance crucial for corporate governance
IT governance is integral to the success of corporate governance, Maktoob Business reports. It provides organisations with the management and control of IT services, which helps prioritise and justify IT investments. It also ensures that IT change processes comply with the regulatory requirements which are now becoming mandatory in the financial sector, especially for banks operating internationally.
CA Clarity 8, with more than 150 enhancements, addresses the governance needs by maximising the corporation's IT ability to align budgets and resources with business needs, while minimising the risk of inadequate control across the enterprise.
Speaking on the launch of CA Clarity 8, Bjarne Rasmussen, VP, Technology & Business Units, EMEA Eastern Markets for CA said, "Good corporate IT governance is vital for financial and economic deployment in the region."
