Check Point Software Technologies has announced what it claims to be the industry`s first comprehensive and open VPN/Security solutions for the Linux operating system.
Check Point`s Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture for Red Hat Linux gives Linux users access to the same Internet security benefits already available on other major operating systems and platforms.
"We are seeing a growing customer interest in deploying Check Point Software`s Internet security solutions on Linux," says Asheem Chandna, VP of marketing and business development of Check Point Software.
"Check Point`s SVN architecture now provides customers the choice to deploy the industry`s leading VPN/security solution on a broad variety of platforms, be it gateways, servers or clients."
Offering support for Linux underscores one of the main characteristics of the secure virtual network (SVN) architecture - the ability to extend security easily into new operating environments.
Check Point Software solutions are available locally from Dimension Data Networking, DataSecure and EC-Hold.
