Compucomp doubles its LG monitor sales forecasts

Leading distributor, Compucomp, which recently became the second local distributor for LG Electronics`s IT range, has announced that sales of LG monitors have "seriously outstripped demand", with the company doubling its orders for the original May forecast.

This was revealed by Carlos Vizcarra, CEO of Compucomp. Vizcarra said his company "can`t get stock fast enough" in order to supply its nationwide dealer chain. "LG`s products are essentially aimed at the corporate market, including its monitors, and we believe, within the next two years, that they are going to be making considerable inroads in this area."

Compucomp is currently distributing the StudioWorks LG monitor range, which includes 14 ", 15", 17 ", 19 " and 21" variations, as well as the latest 17 " Flatron monitor, a high resolution flat screen monitor especially pitched at the CAD-CAM environment.

According to Tertia Ferreira, sales executive at Compucomp, the Flatron monitor from LG is particularly popular in the government sector. "We are seeing a large number of these screens being ordered by government departments. In fact," she said, the government is actually specifying these monitors in all these tenders."

Commenting further, Vizcarra said he also expects sales of the newly-launched LG PC range to start "kicking in" very soon. The company launched the LG "Barebone" PC range to its dealer base at the end of February, and expects sales to have a noticeable impact on the company`s bottomline within the next 12 months.

"We expect the LG PC to become one of the favourite desktops in the corporate environment," said Vizcarra.
