Computer Associates will hold its next world-wide business software conference, CA-World 1998, from April 26 to May 1, 1998. The annual technology extravaganza - arguably one of the IT industry`s most popular expositions, will be hosted by the city of New Orleans for the fourth consecutive year. "By moving its conference dates to the spring, CA has made it possible for attendees to experience all the excitement of CA-World, while also enjoying one of New Orleans` most popular events - the annual Jazz Festival, which is a unique celebration of the culture and traditions of Louisiana," said CA Africa Marketing Manager Anke Robottom. "We`re looking forward to returning to New Orleans during one of its most thrilling times of the year," she said. "The combination of CA-World 1998 and the New Orleans Jazz Festival will create a highly enjoyable and memorable occasion for all our guests." The conference is expected to draw more than 20 000 participants from around the globe. Every exhibitor booth at CA-World 1998 will connect to a public network monitored by Unicenter TNG, CA`s end-to-end enterprise management solution. This extranet will provide exhibitors with Internet connections, interoperability with other vendors, and access to the CA-World Internet site. CA-World 1998 will focus exclusively on CA`s core enterprise and information management technologies. The conference will also incorporate the largest number of user forums and educational programmes to date. Another innovative offering for CA-World 1998 will be the CA Floating Internet Pavilion - a state-of-the-art multimedia training centre situated aboard four large cruise ships. The vessels will be docked on the Mississippi River, just outside the Convention Centre, and will serve as interactive high-tech Internet classrooms.
