Computer Configurations (Pty) Ltd (CC), a CCH group company, has reinforced its enterprise solutions strategy with the formation of a pre- and post sales services and consulting division. The Professional Services division of CC will work across the financial, telecommunications and general sales divisions, and will be headed by Andrew Brook.
CC managing director, Andrew Sims, says that the division will consolidate much of the technical and business expertise resident in the group, supporting hardware sales and other offerings of the group companies.
"CCH owes its rapid growth from a single company to a successful group to its business and technology expertise. We want to ensure that this successful formula is preserved in the new structure."
The professional services division will provide consulting, implementation and management skills to give clients an optimum computing environment, says Brook. "Companies making server purchasing decisions do so within the context of the business and technology environment in which they operate.
This means that a correct decision usually can be made only in the light of the networked environment, the operating system, database and applications that will run on the system, the critical nature of the data, and the management of the environment."
Specific areas of focus will be NT/Unix network architecture, data and network management software, data and systems consolidation, business continuity, and data backup and security.
"These issues are particularly important when companies embrace new technologies and business waves such as e-commerce, ERM and CRM," says Brook. "They impact on the entire business of the company, and a more holistic approach to technology implementation is vital if companies are to succeed in implementing new technologies cost effectively and with maximum benefit to their business."
