Compuware/Microsoft relationship extends with Dev Days participation

Compuware Corporation, a provider of development tools that closely interface with Microsoft development environments, participated in Microsoft SA`s Developer Days event, further strengthening the business relationship.

According to Compuware SA country manager, Wade Gomes, Compuware`s development tools assist Microsoft developers to produce higher quality, reliable applications faster.

"We have a strong relationship with Microsoft, which provides one of the world`s most popular development environment in its Visual Studio .NET product. Complementary technologies from Compuware include our DevPartner range and Vantage technologies, which take Microsoft code and stress test it for performance and quality in environments that simulate real business situations," he says.

Dev Days are one-day events taking place in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, focusing on current Microsoft technologies specifically targeted at developers and technical decision-makers.

This year, Dev Days focused on building secure smart client and Web applications using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. This will enable the developer community to add power and security to their applications. Each track featured local experts who demonstrated how to build real-world applications, provided a demonstration of these applications in action, and finally provided developers with the code.

Gomes explains that Vantage helps to identify and resolve application performance issues quickly before an application goes live. "It demonstrates how changes in network bandwidth, latency, load and TCP window size affect each end-user`s response time," he says.

Meanwhile, Compuware`s DevPartner family of products provides a comprehensive development, debugging and tuning solution to the challenges of application development, from concept to coding to completion.
