Comstor, MDR Switchview form strategic partnership

Johannesburg, 04 Dec 2001

Datatec`s global channel provider of networking technology products, Westcon Group, announced that its UK Cisco distributor, Comstor UK, has formed a strategic alliance partnership with MDR Switchview, the global voice and data specialists.

Comstor was selected by MDR Switchview because of its extensive product knowledge and technical support and was therefore considered ideal to distribute the MDR Switchview MVP product portfolio, which integrates with Cisco Call Manager across the Cisco AVVID platform.

Says Paul Cunningham, Marketing Director of Comstor: "We believe the mass market adoption of IP Telephony will be driven by the ability of suppliers to deliver world-class solutions that not only match but exceed the functionality offered by traditional PBXs. That is why Comstor has chosen to work with MDR Switchview and its MVP for Cisco Call Manager. Applications like this don`t just enable more efficient solutions but fundamentally invent new markets and business models for our resellers to tap into."

Says Barry Crawshaw, Managing Director of MDR Switchview: "This is an excellent opportunity for both organisations - we benefit from the efficient distribution of our hardware and software services, and Comstor gains by increased sales of Call Manager and providing added value to their customers."

MDR Switchview will offer support, incentives and training of MVP to help augment Call Manager turnover. Comstor and MDR Switchview have introduced an accreditation programme to ensure partnerships are secured to take advantage of the rapidly growing IP telephony market. MDR Switchview is keen to ensure that only accredited partners will be able to install and support MVP product range, thus maintaining the high level of professionalism of the CISCO and MDR Switchview IP Telephony solution.
