Realyst today announced that ComutaNet, a subsidiary within the Primedia Group, had chosen Realyst to be its strategic partner from a contractual management perspective.
The business of ComutaNet is completely bound up in its contracts since it not only enters into contracts with its clients, but ComutaNet itself is contractually tied to the rights it has for much of its advertising space.
"We needed to ensure that all the potential contractual risks were identified within our organisation. We also needed to ensure that we were able to rapidly access these contracts and develop an appropriate proactive management style with respect to these contractual relationships," commented Pieter Groenewald, Financial Director of ComutaNet. "It is essential that we were fully aware of our contractual renewal situations, the rights associated with these various contacts and could forecast our financial commitments accurately."
"To this end, we have appointed contract owners within ComutaNet and put in place the necessary administrative procedures," continued Groenewald. "With the involvement of Realyst from a software expertise and skills perspective, we were able to complete this initial project within two months. The Realyst solution is just what we needed; and with the changes we have made internally to address our contractual needs, we are confident that we are in control of our own destiny from a contractual situation and thus, this has significantly enhanced our `corporate governance` program."
"This is the first implementation of Realyst within the Primedia Group," added Tony Maddison, Director of Realyst. "The positive experiences we have had with ComutaNet will help us with other projects within the Primedia Group. It was very encouraging to see how quickly the issues associated with Contract Lifecycle Management were understood, grasped and appropriately handled by ComutaNet`s staff."
Contract Lifecycle Management is just one aspect of the `compliance` issue that now face all organisations. However, addressing this part of the `complete` solution ensures a sound basis for tackling the other phases of this multi-faceted topic.

ComutaNet offers marketers the opportunity to reach South Africa`s economically active adult population and over 6.4 million children between the ages of 10 and 15 - many of them difficult to reach through traditional media. Its media options include interior and exterior bus, taxis and train advertising, station platforms, taxi ranks and trailer advertising. The emerging market will see, hear and physically experience ComutaNet`s advertisers` messages many times each day.
Its media platforms target consumers on a daily basis when communicating for work and shopping purposes. During this time they would, through its media options, be exposed to stimulation of all five senses, see, hear, touch, taste and smell.
Its services cover Audio, Visual and Physical consumer interaction and have become a vital element in designing a fully integrated communications plan that will result in changing purchasing behaviour. This has now been complemented by the addition of Rank TV and Rank Branding.
