Comverse introduces Who Called For Video

Johannesburg, 16 Mar 2005

Comverse has announced the availability of Who Called for Video, a new service that delivers textual notification of a missed video call or videomail hang-ups along with the first frame of the video message.

Leveraging the success of Comverse`s Who Called missed call notification offering, Who Called for Video is a call completion service designed to generate wireless operator revenues.

"While 3G operators strive to deliver comprehensive network coverage, Who Called for Video ensures subscribers will receive missed call notification for video calls when the handset is off or out of 3G coverage. Available for both Videomail and non-Videomail subscribers, Who Called for Video is designed to help subscribers develop a high level of confidence in video calling," said Benny Einhorn, chief marketing officer at Comverse.

"3G operators are seeking to capitalise on the growing number of video-enabled handsets by offering more video-based services. The service complements Comverse`s Video Communication & Entertainment service suite that includes Videomail, Mobile Video Portal and Video Fun Dial."

He said ImPact call completion and management services are designed to help service providers increase average revenue per user (ARPU). "ImPact products leverage current network equipment and subscriber usage habits to enable service providers to introduce new services with a short time-to-market.

"ImPact services are designed to improve call completion rates, and increase penetration and usage of the current voicemail service, by introducing traffic-generating call management services, through applications such as Who Called, Notify Me, Connect Me, Message Screening, and Smart Call. ImPact applications are easy to deploy, intuitive to use, and designed to deliver a quick and attractive return on investment."
