Comverse, the supplier of value-added service solutions for cellular and fixed-line operators, has announced that its Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC) solution has achieved interoperability approval with Nortel Networks GSM/GPRS radio and core infrastructure equipment.
Interoperability validation can streamline integration of Comverse MMS applications with Nortel Networks infrastructure, which can help wireless operators speed time-to-market for MMS service offerings for their subscribers.

Comverse`s MMSC features a high-capacity and high-reliability MMS architecture that complies with standards for multimedia messaging. The Comverse MMSC supports mobile-to-mobile, mobile-to-email and mobile-to-application messages containing text, photos, images, audio and video.
Today`s announcement extends an ongoing relationship between Comverse and Nortel Networks. Comverse has also obtained Nortel Networks interoperability approval for voicemail, unified messaging, instant messaging, short messaging service, and mobile data gateway solutions, as well as its prepaid IS-41P interface for Nortel Networks CDMA mobile switching centre platform.
