Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) can enjoy the performance of Gigabit Ethernet with Comztek`s release of 3Com`s new SuperStack 3300 switches.

According to Comztek product manager Siobhan Hanvey, Gigabit Ethernet has, until now, been too expensive for most SMEs to deploy. 3Com has now reduced the price point for Gigabit Ethernet switching, making it available to any company.

Distributed by Comztek, the range consisting of four models will enable users to create the best configuration of 10/100/1000 switching to suit their networking requirements. The 3300 is a plug-and-play series based on 3Com`s stacking technology, which enables users to stack up to four switches together, in any combination, to create one "virtual switch".

"This is an easy, economical way to grow the as the organisation grows," says Hanvey. Also included is a free PC-based application, Transcend Network Supervisor that allows the user to discover, map and monitor the network.

A registered online lifetime warranty is available on the hardware, including fans and power supplies, as well as free upgrades, and free telephone technical support for a year.

"Comztek recently launched a fully-functional, automated service centre with full backup stock and test laboratory facilities, made available to all resellers through its customised reseller service level agreements. This facility allows our resellers to sell 3Com products in the confidence that they have the support of a 3Com systems distributor," notes Hanvey.
