Comztek, the communications distributor in the Mustek group, has been appointed sole distributor of the Accton range of high-end Ethernet and Fast Ethernet adapters, hubs and switches.
"Accton complements our existing networking product range, providing increased access to the rapidly growing SME [small and medium enterprise] market," says Comztek MD Paul Conradie. "Comztek`s current product management and technical specialist teams have been enhanced by the addition of a dedicated Accton product manager. As in the past, we will offer extensive pre-sales support to our resellers.
"With our new support division, we are able to deliver post-sales support that matches our top quality product range. This is especially appropriate in the SME market where traditional PC dealers, who are now migrating into sophisticated networking environments, can use Comztek`s support facilities."
Mustek CEO David Kan says Accton has always provided a specialised networking product, manufactured across a wide market spectrum. "Mustek began distributing Accton products in 1988 and has built up a strong alliance with the company.
"Until now Mustek has focused on entry-level volume product distribution that suited our channel structure and dealer profile, and we will continue to distribute these products alongside Comztek. However, with the acquisition of Comztek, which is considered a foremost networking product distributor, we identified excellent opportunities in the high-end product range."
Heinz Stephan, Comztek manager of products and technology, says Accton was the first manufacturer in Asia to release a Layer 3 switch of its kind aimed at bringing faster and better network connection.
"In addition to delivering fast Layer 2 switching, the company also provides hardware-assisted Layer 3 IP routing that far outperforms traditional standalone routers. With this, network administrators can use separate IP subnets or VLAN groups to enhance network performance, strengthen security and simplify network management."
