Leading systems distributor Comztek is warning resellers that the opportunity to purchase Microsoft Upgrade Advantage at 5% discount expires at the end of June.
Upgrade Advantage, a special upgrade licence available until 31 July 2002, enables customers running old versions of Microsoft software to cost-effectively upgrade to the latest versions.
With Upgrade Advantage, users are automatically transitioned to the new Software Assurance programme after 31 July 2002.
"Upgrade Advantage remains the most viable way of upgrading old software. And with a 5% discount it becomes an even more attractive method of countering expensive licensing costs," comments Mark Dorfling, Microsoft product manager at Comztek.
It is also important to note that after 31 July 2002, users won`t be able to upgrade software anymore, but will have to buy the full licence - if they`re not enrolled in the Software Assurance programme.
Benefits of Upgrade Advantage include:
* The rights to prior versions;
* Automatic Software Assurance after 31 July 2002;
* Product upgrades for the period of the agreement.
