Resellers are under increasing pressure to maximise revenues, minimise capital expenditure and return a healthy profit while continually providing end-users with the service they demand.
To help resellers address these pressures, IT systems and communications distributor Comztek has established an onsite evaluation services division for its Citrix resellers. Comztek was appointed as an official distributor of Citrix solutions in SA in June 2004.
Donovan Mooney, Citrix product manager at Comztek, says the newly-established Comztek onsite evaluation services division will not only allow resellers to generate additional revenue, but will also dramatically shorten sales cycles.
"By leveraging our Citrix expertise, resellers will be able to reduce the cost of deploying technical skills to their customers, which translates into far better utilisation of time and post-sales service. Our skills in the connectivity and communications space make Comztek an ideal partner to deliver Citrix solutions to the channel," he says.
The free onsite evaluation service, which is available to both new and existing Citrix resellers, is complemented by a feasibility study conducted at the end-user`s site to determine the validity of deploying Citrix solutions.
"From this report, we will be able to guide the reseller in developing a workable proposal for the customer`s site, and generate a list of executables," he adds.
Comztek supports the full Citrix product offering, including all hardware and software component requirements. The service is NDA-based (Non-disclosure agreement-based) and no action is taken without the reseller`s involvement.
Mooney says the onsite evaluation services division utilises a Citrix-approved methodology to gauge the needs of the end-user, including quality control on proof of concept testing, pilot site management and licensing requirements.
"Our main drive is to assist resellers to be able to provide their customers with a problem resolution service backed up by extensive Citrix after-sales service and technical skills," he concludes.
