Comztek, one of South African leading ICT distributors - and one with an expanding footprint in Africa, with operations in East Africa (out of Kenya), Namibia and Zambia - has asserted its commitment to the African market with the appointment of three account managers and six channel managers to strengthen its “Rest of Africa” Business Unit.
The appointments are an important part of Comztek's expansion programme into the African continent and highlights Comztek's continued support of its vendors and resellers in the region, through the localisation of various aspects of its operations such as customer interface, stock holding and warranty administration.
The account manager positions filled by Africa's emerging distribution powerhouse are that of account manager for the Rest of Africa Business Unit, as well as two regional account manager positions - one for Botswana and one for Mauritius and the Indian Ocean Islands region.
Supporting the account managers will be the six new channel managers looking after the Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, Fujitsu and Symantec accounts in Southern, Central and East Africa, as well as the Indian Ocean Islands region. Together, the new channel managers will be responsible for the management and promotion of their respective brands within their regions, and this includes fostering and developing relationships with vendors as well as existing and prospective reseller partners.
Says Tiens Lange, Rest of Africa Business Unit manager: “Our African business is growing at a tremendous pace. We announced a while ago the expansion of our software distribution business in Africa as well as the conclusion of a securisation deal to fund our growth in the continent. It was therefore befitting that we make these appointments to augment our aim of becoming the preferred communications partner in Africa.”
To sustain the South African operations, Comztek also appointed four new channel managers, who will all be based at the distributor's Gauteng office.
