Ensuring its customers get the highest level of protection from their security products, Comztek is pleased to announce that vendor partner gateprotect's firewall has obtained EAL4+ certification under Common Criteria.
According to Germany-based IT security specialist gateprotect, its firewall packet filtering core was evaluated by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in Germany, during the course of development.
"IT security remains one of the most important aspects of a technology stack for companies today, and Common Criteria is rated as the most important international security standard for IT security products," states Alex van Zyl, gateprotect channel manager at Comztek. "Level 4+ certifications are the highest possible level of evaluation in the market today and with the certification comes the assurance for customers that their firewall solution has been developed in accordance with the strictest of regulations and complies with high quality and security standards."
According to gateprotect, the certification was conducted based on its CC version 3.1 (products) and involved the inspection of the source code by independent experts as well as the approval of the development environment by the BSI. Both possible intrusions were tested as well as quality assurance of the products, which the company passed with flying colours.
With the certificate, customers of gateprotect can now rest assured of the quality of the products as well as their ability to handle and face external security threats that threaten to cause havoc in the business environment.
