Progress Software South Africa is to hold its annual African User Group Conference at Kwa Maritane in the Pilanesberg from 18 to 21 July.
"This is the largest local annual gathering of Progress users, technology and expertise," says Rick Parry, MD of Progress Software. "It is therefore the best way to keep abreast of emerging technologies, Progress products and how Progress applications are meeting real business needs today."
Delegates will obtain a comprehensive update on current Progress and strategic partner products such as Progress Dynamics, Progress Fathom, and the Progress OpenEdge platform.
Technical breakouts will offer a real-world, how-to approach to learning new skills, techniques and best practices. Local and international Progress representatives and customers will share with delegates the development of successful Progress-based applications across a broad spectrum of industries.
Delegates will gain a deeper understanding of Progress programming concepts and the most effective ways to use Progress development tools.
They will also have the opportunity to learn how to design applications from the ground up, and how to take existing applications and transform them.
"The power of Progress and its emerging technologies will come alive during these technical breakout sessions," says Parry. "Delegates will have the option of focusing on a single track that matches their interests, or picking and choosing sessions from multiple tracks. They will have access to insights and approaches that will make their jobs easier."
A flexible schedule will enable delegates to maximise their attendance at the conference, as will the fact that most presentations will be offered twice, to give them the opportunity to attend all sessions that may be of interest to them. The various presentations offered will be rated by level of technical depth from beginner to advanced.
Due to the overwhelming positive response to last year`s Business Forum, this year`s conference will once again feature a separate two-day pure business track, which will also incorporate the next CEO Forum meeting. The agenda will cover an assortment of local and international issues.
