Connet Systems has released the latest version of the class-leading Connet2U virtual WASP environment. Connet2U consists of class-leading SMS, USSD and billing gateways that allow customers full control of their own mobile services.
“Business and content owners have been paying a premium price to the local aggregators and WASPS to deliver messages and content,” says Brendan White, CEO of Connet Systems.
“The aggregator simply fulfils a 'middleman' role between the mobile operators and the customer, and slaps a significant mark-up on each and every transaction or message. This is besides the exorbitant set-up and monthly fees charged to simply access the service; in many cases the aggregator or WASP charges a customer a higher monthly fee for a single service than what the mobile operator charges the aggregator for all their services combined.”
The Connet2U platform gives customers direct access to the mobile operators at the same level as the existing aggregators and WASPS. This in effect allows the customer to function as an aggregator or WASP, with the associated cost benefits and improved flexibility. Another significant feature is that the Connet2U platform can be connected to any number of mobile operators around the world, allowing a customer to put down a mobile footprint in any territory by simply negotiating the commercial terms with the mobile operators in that territory.
“Besides the obvious cost and flexibility benefits, the Connet2U platform also manages third-party connectivity and billing,” says Brendan “This can open new business opportunities and revenue streams by allowing our customers to on-sell connectivity using the same business model that aggregators and WASPS currently use.”
The Connet2U platform is deployed and managed by Connet Systems on behalf of the customer. Connet will manage the connectivity to the various mobile operators and ensure a telecom grade service with maximum availability.
The platform is aimed at medium to large enterprises that have significant mobile footprints, or are planning to move into the mobile market.
