Continuity plans need work
Some work is needed to increase the "quality and maturity" of continuity plans, according to a Gartner survey, reports NURS.
Almost 60% of the organisations questioned said they had only planned for their longest "outage" to be seven days.
Roberta Witty, research VP at Gartner, said the findings suggested that the majority of businesses would find it difficult to sustain business operations in the event of a disaster.
Data centres go swimming
Data centres are set to hit the seas to be more environmentally friendly and to protect against natural disasters, reports OneStopClick.
International Data Security (IDS), a new American company, plans to launch 50 ships containing data centres all around the world.
The company says it will make use of old ships being sold for scrap and will offer services like business continuity and disaster recovery, call centres and SAN and NAS storage.
Evolve unveils DR solution
