ContinuitySA offers certified ISO 22301 Lead Implementer course

With business continuity recognised as an essential practice within more companies than ever before, demand for certified professionals capable of delivering sound programmes to prevent interruption to commerce is on the rise. ContinuitySA, the specialist in business continuity, is pleased to announce availability of its Lead Implementer course for business continuity management systems (BCMS) based on the recognised standard for business continuity, ISO 22301.

The five-day intensive course takes place in Cape Town from 10-14 November, and in Johannesburg from the 24-28 November, and culminates in an examination and certification recognised by the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board.

The Lead Implementer course enables participants to develop the necessary expertise to support the implementation and management of a BCMS. Participants also gain a thorough understanding of best practices used to implement business continuity processes as described in the ISO 22399 standard.

Furthermore, the training is consistent with the project management practices established in ISO 10006 (Quality Management Systems - Guidelines for Quality Management in Projects) and fully compatible with BS 25999 (business continuity management specification) and ISO 27031 (Guidelines for information and communication technology readiness for business continuity).

Those who should consider attending include:

* Project managers or consultants seeking the expertise to prepare and to support organisations in the implementation of a BCMS;
* Business continuity auditors who wish to fully understand the implementation of a BCMS;
* Persons responsible for the business continuity conformity in an organisation;
* Members of a business continuity team;
* Expert advisors in business continuity; and
* Members of an organisation who want to prepare for business continuity or for a BCMS project management function.

By attending the course, delegates gain a comprehensive understanding of the concepts, approaches, standards, methods and techniques required for the effective implementation, maintenance and management of a BCMS.

ISO 22301 Foundation Certification is a highly recommended as a prerequisite for attending the Lead Implementer course; those with basic knowledge of ISO 27031 or BS 25999 and general business continuity concepts are also recommended to attend.

After successfully completing the three-hour exam, participants can apply for the credentials of Certified ISO 22301 Provisional Implementer, Certified ISO 22301 Implementer or Certified ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, depending on their level of experience.

The Lead Implementer Course costs R16 500 excluding VAT.
