In support of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Awareness Week - 31 March to 4 April 2008 - ContinuitySA will host an Open Day on 3 April 2008 at the Growthpoint Office Park Site in Midrand.
Business Continuity Awareness Week's roots are in the UK with an initiative that was started up by the BCI to raise awareness in business. A few years back a collaboration of Canadian affiliated business continuity groups decided to take it to the next level in Canada and it quickly spread to include the US and most other regions around the globe.
ContinuitySA's primary goal is to promote business continuity awareness in Africa and the Middle East. As practitioners in the chosen field, it is key to share knowledge so as to assist organisations across South Africa and neighbouring countries.
The Open Day is ContinuitySA's way of giving back to the industry and contributing to making a difference in how an individual/organisation may respond to a disaster/business disruption.
The Open Day will commence with a business breakfast with guest speaker Professor Mervyn King on the King III report, which will be followed by a list of topical presentations from experts in the industry.
There will also be site tours and a mini exhibition as well as a prize-giving ceremony.
