Cops deploy for rapid response
The force will use Intergraph's integrated incident management and business intelligence (BI) software, which will allow them to better handle the more than 700 000 calls for service they receive each year.
It says it will improve incident response, as well as the reporting and analysis of public safety data for more than 1.2 million residents of Mississauga and Brampton.
According to the Steria, the new technology will allow the police service to ensure that no matter where in the country an incident takes place, the right officers are more quickly and consistently deployed to the right locations at the right time, to prevent and detect crime.
The contract is led by the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland and the eight Scottish police forces, and supported by the Scottish Police Services Authority.
It has been has been awarded to Steria and is the final piece in a jigsaw to develop and install a single, national command and control system, GIS, and Gazetteer application that will be used by all the forces and wider police community.
"The BI software captures incident data and will let us use it to identify trends and hot-spots, so we can improve response and deliver services more efficiently”, says Stuart Moir, Intergraph's director of IT services, according to PR Newswire.
