Copy bureau buys Namibia's first TDS700

Johannesburg, 25 Nov 2008

Windhoek-based copy bureau Architectural Outlet is the first company in Namibia to take delivery of an Oc'e TDS700 wide-format machine. Owned by Elsie du Plessis, Architectural Outlet has been servicing the needs of Windhoek's architects, consulting engineers and other clients over the past 13 years, providing them with a wide range of services, including wide-format consumables, wide-format and survey equipment, and wide-format prints and copies.

Oc'e South Africa's Errol van Battum says: “Since the Oc'e TDS700 was installed in May this year, it has racked up some 32 000 linear metres.

“Being able to print and scan concurrently is a huge time-saver for a busy operation like Architectural Outlet. In addition, the TDS700 allows the copy bureau to print over 1 200m^2 without having to reload media. The fact that the machine boasts the lowest energy consumption in its class is an added bonus.”

Architectural Outlet became an Oc'e customer more than 10 years ago when it acquired an Oc'e 9800 wide-format printer. This machine's counter has turned the clock twice and it is still in operation as a back-up machine for the TDS700.

All of Architectural Outlet's customer drawings, from A3 to A0 and at times AX in size, are now being printed on the Oc'e TDS700. In addition to the Oc'e 9800, the copy bureau also has an Oc'e 7050 wide-format analogue copier and an Oc'e 940 folder.

Architectural Outlet is not just a copy bureau, however, the firm also services wide-format machines in Windhoek and its environs. Included are some 15 Oc'e wide-format systems, consisting of TDS100s, Oc'e 705Xs, TDS320s and one TDS400.
