IT equipment distribution company COREX has introduced a range of cloud-based, WiFi EZVIZ video solutions targeted at household consumers and small businesses in the local market.
At the unveiling in Johannesburg this week, COREX unveiled the security and surveillance family of video cameras which comprise action cameras, DIY surveillance kits, nanny cameras and wireless DIY alarm systems developed by EZVIZ, a subsidiary of Hikvision. They will be distributed by COREX to various parts of SA.
According to COREX, the cameras are equipped with motion detection features which allow them to be set up to record only during movement of the object. The motion detection alarm feature captures and records any intrusion and will send an immediate alarm and video message to the users' mobile phone, providing reliable protection for personal and property security.
Addressing delegates, COO at COREX Stewart Diss said EZVIZ has been able to take full advantage of understanding the significance of IOT trends and deliver the video solutions in a way that consumers can easily make use of through IOT and M2M technology.
"The differentiating factor of our cameras is that they are consumer friendly and
anybody will be able to install and set up the cameras in the home without requiring the technical capabilities of a handy man.
"Our product quality and image quality stand out. Furthermore, our DIY cameras are easy to use, set up and install. They allow users to view their homes from any part of the world through M2M technology," he explained.
The user, he continued, must first download the EZVIZ mobile application from Android or iOS mobile stores, and then there is an option to enter the QR camera code (barcode) which contains the camera information. Following that the user logs onto the wireless network and creates an account, he continued.
Johnny Ge, channel sales manager SA at Hikvision, said the brand focuses on affordable solutions for chain store management and home security using the latest technology.
"The cloud P2P function is used to connect to the cloud, through the EZVIZ service and allows communication with other devices. Previously consumers had to log onto their ADSL modem and set up different ports to allow communication of the camera with the external world, but now the camera is made in such a way that it bypasses the lengthy process," he revealed.
The video camera product quality is commercial grade quality, which has a low failure rate and the CCTV video resolution is 1.3 megapixels or 2 megapixels. The analogue is turbo HD surveillance which makes it higher definition resolution, added Ge.
"The DIY surveillance kits, nanny cameras and wireless DIY alarm systems are not only developed for security reasons, but also for parents to be able to capture important moments in their children's lives , keep an eye on the elderly and keep an eye on the pets whether you are at home or away from home," he concluded.
The video camera range will be available at Makro, Game, the HiFi Corporation and other stores around SA.
