Corporate Research Foundation selects Softstart as a top ICTe company in SA

Johannesburg, 03 Jun 2005

The Corporate Research Foundation (CRF) has selected Softstart, the ICT business and technology incubator based in Tshwane, for the fourth edition of its prestigious publication, Top ICTe Companies in South Africa, that was launched on 31 May 2005 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Johannesburg.

According to Arthur Goldstuck of World Wide Worx: "The companies featured in the 2005/6 edition have prepared for tomorrow not by trying to second-guess the future, but by ensuring an unshakable foundation is built for it today."

A variety of companies in diverse sectors are profiled in this publication, from global giants to specialised niche-market suppliers. All have been analysed on macro- and micro-business factors. Through in-depth research and analysis beforehand, and a second selection based on interviews with executives responsible for company policy, the CRF selects the best company presentations for publication. The conclusive selection is based on criteria such as career opportunities, the company's growth potential, training and education, innovation, strategic alliances and international activities.

Softstart achieved a rating of four out of five on the CRF scorecard which focuses on flexibility and innovation, growth markets, quality of management, international orientation and human resource priorities. According to Softstart CEO Ben Zaaiman: "Softstart's inclusion in a publication of this stature reaffirms our position as one of the leading business and technology incubators in SA."

Zaaiman continues: "This affirmation further inspires us to make a more substantial impact on the economy through the provision of the highest quality incubation services."

The Corporate Research Foundation is an international publishing company that conducts research into best business practices in seven countries on three continents.

Softstart, based on the CSIR Campus, assists early stage ICT entrepreneurs with mentoring and support in the strategy and practice of growing a sustainable business.
