Creative unveils software update

Creative Manager, provider of Creative Project Manager and Creative Manager Pro, has released version 8.15 of its flagship product, with more than 20 improvements based on input from users of its Agency and Project Management Software. More user-driven changes are on the way for next month`s 8.2 release.

In a release on PRWeb, the company says no installation or conversion is necessary, and the update is free to all users of Creative Project Manager and Creative Manager Pro.

Performance and were top on the list on this month`s release, as Creative Manager Pro looked at the list of requests big and small that users were asking for.

Taking ROI to the end of projects

A few years ago, life insurer Lincoln Financial Group completed a project that was originally given the green light based on its ability to reduce the headcount in a particular department.

The project, which resulted in service improvements and other benefits, was deemed a success - that is until the firm`s CTO, Jason Glazier, made an important discovery: no one had ever made the layoffs, writes ComputerWorld.

Oversights like this highlight a major flaw in how projects are managed at many companies, he says - the tendency to neglect important steps at the project`s close that can make or break getting a full return on investment. While lots of IT and business groups are all over ROI at a project`s inception, it all too often slips off the radar as the project is winding down.

Nokia in five-year deal with Hutchison Essar

Nokia has reached a five-year managed services agreement to run Hutchison Essar`s network operations in nine circles in India, SDA India says, thus allowing the operator to better focus on its customers and core activities.

The agreement, for which documentation is being finalised, calls for Nokia to provide an array of solutions from its extensive services portfolio, including network planning, project management, configuration and optimisation, network operations and maintenance and the administration of third party vendor contract management.

Nokia will also welcome over 600 Hutchison Essar staff into its services business unit.
