SA Entrust technologies distributor, AST e-Business, has announced that Entrust and Ariba, have signed a definitive agreement to deliver trusted e-commerce transactions to buyers and suppliers on the Ariba B2B e-commerce platform, as well as customers of its leading B2B procurement products.
The agreement will further ensure the trust of Ariba Network commerce services, while further strengthening Entrust`s position in B2B security. The integration of Entrust`s e-business solutions helps Ariba ensure secure communications and transactions between B2B buyers and suppliers on its industry leading open, global e-commerce platform.
"As B2B continues to grow at an explosive rate, delivering higher degrees of trust to e-commerce transactions and business relationships becomes increasingly important," says Michael Horn, Chief Technology Officer of AST e-Business, a division of the AST Group. "Entrust has proven expertise in delivering global security solutions for B2B e-commerce."
"A recent Gartner Group research report says that by 2004 B2B transactions will reach approximately $7.3 trillion," explains Horn. "As B2B e-commerce becomes the preferred method of global business, it will increasingly require the same authorisation, audit, signature and receipt controls currently utilised in traditional business processes. It will also require a redefinition of these processes for Web-enabled organisations of the present and future."
In addition, Ariba will bundle the Entrust market-leading security software to deliver trusted transactions for its Ariba ORMS and Ariba ORMX lines of B2B e-commerce procurement products.
