CRS strengthens its position in payroll processing

Computer Related Services (Pty) Ltd (CRS), a subsidiary of JSE-listed ITI Technology Holdings, and a leader in mid-range market Payroll and Human Resource Systems, today strengthened its position in the light of a notable increase in Payroll Outsourcing business, by formally announcing CRS Outsourcing Services, a dynamic new Managed Bureau Payroll solution to meet the growing need for specialised payroll services in the South African business environment.

CRS operates Payroll Processing Centres in Kyalami, Johannesburg; Plattekloof, Cape Town and will shortly be opening a centre in Durban.

CRS, which was acquired by JSE-listed ITI Technology Holdings during 1998, has been supplying AS/400 computer- based payroll and human resource systems to blue chip South African companies for more than 15 years and has more than 80 installed sites.

"Remuneration and Human Resource Management have become strategic functions that are now mission critical, in the same way as marketing and customer relationship management functions are, in a successful business operation of today," says CRS Marketing Manager Peter Wilson. As more companies divert resources to the strategic analysis and assessment of workforce efficiency to improve the bottom line, there is a growing need to rationalise Payroll and Human Resource Management functions while maintaining quality of services and controlling costs.

The key is to outsource non-core business functions; i.e. the processing and administration of Payroll.

CRS`s new Managed Bureau Payroll service provides a comprehensive and total payroll solution that will appeal to companies of all sizes. It includes the capture of employee details, production of payslips and reports, bank transfer data, statutory and legislated updates and the processing of year end tax details. Additional services provided include the monthly reconciliation of payments/contributions due to The Receiver of Revenue, Pension/Provident Funds, Medical Aid Organisations, UIF and other third parties.
