As companies demand more reliability and robustness from their information technology infrastructure, the need for testing tools will increase proportionally. JSE-listed Crux Information Technologies has recognised the opportunity this challenge presents and has joined the Mercury Interactive Channel Partner Programme.
"We believe that the market for such skills is due to expand as more companies buy these products to ensure the reliability and robustness of their software, especially in the e-commerce arena," says Jeff Zafiropoulos, Director of Crux Information Technologies.
Crux is a major player in the provision of integrated IT services to public and private sector organisations throughout SA. Its range of IT services include business solutions, professional services and skills sourcing services and products primarily to the enterprise market.
"We feel that if we build a resource pool with good knowledge in these products, we will have an edge in this market," Zafiropoulos explains.
As part of the programme, the company is identifying consultants already working in quality assurance environments and training them in Mercury tools.
"We are focusing on consultants who understand the policies, procedures and processes inherent to Quality Assurance. The sales force has already been introduced to the tools to ensure they will be able to identify the opportunities in their day-to-day activities." In addition, a certified product specialist has been identified and will be trained to supply high-level support to the Crux consultants.
Crux Information Technologies will focus on Mercury`s enterprise application testing and performance management and monitoring products; and will use these to target local, central and provincial government, the parastatals, as well as the private sector.
Alida Hills, central projects office manager at Crux, says the company plans to identify opportunities for the application of the tool and to supply a well-trained and experienced consultant base for new and existing projects.
