Crux launches municipal software

Johannesburg, 01 Oct 2000

Listed IT company, Crux Technologies Limited, held the official launch of their Municipal Treasury System, Munsoft 2010, at the St George`s Hotel on Wednesday, 27 September.

Munsoft 2010 is a unique arrangement developed over 20 man-years to provide the local government in Southern Africa with the optimal financial and accounting solution. This municipal system boasts the consolidated functionalities of the various legacy systems that have evolved over the last 15 to 20 years and is ideally suited for district councils, regional councils and municipalities as an ASP solution.

Munsoft 2010 is a stand-alone financial system that runs on UNIX technology and supports NT and Windows. It is a fully integrated, interactive, information system that includes multi-level controls, GIS capabilities and is Web-enabled. Currently running parallel in the Middleburg Municipality and in the Eastvaal District Council, the planned rollout for the remaining User Group councils will take place during the following months.

Munsoft 2010 is ideally positioned in terms of the new demarcation process and strategic alliances have been struck with Black SMME`s with the view to further penetrate the market and to further establish Black empowerment entities.

The final rollover to Munsoft 2010 will produce an opportunity to improve, enhance and refine its functionality, taking Southern Africa`s municipalities successfully into the first decade of the new millennium.

"Crux`s invasive for competitive market space is aimed at positioning Munsoft 2010 as the dominant player in the municipal arena," Chief Executive Officer, Graham Foster.
