Decisioneering, a company that provides software, training and consulting services that simplify risk analysis and improve decision-making, has increased the speed of its award-winning software with the release of Crystal Ball 7.1, a Microsoft Excel-based application that extends the use of spreadsheets to undertake risk assessment, forecasting, optimisation analysis, options analysis, and the creation of predictive models.
The product, distributed locally by Harvey Jones Systems, can run simulations up to 100 times faster, or 10 000%, allowing users to make critical business decisions more rapidly and with greater confidence.

In creating Crystal Ball 7.1, Decisioneering has partnered with Frontline Systems, developer of the Solver in Microsoft Excel. Crystal Ball 7.1 incorporates PSI Technology, a Microsoft Excel-compatible recalculation engine from Frontline Systems that evaluates spreadsheet models at high-performance speeds. PSI Technology was developed to speed up optimisation in its Premium Solver Platform, a powerful upgrade to the Solver that Frontline developed for Microsoft.
