JSE-listed CS Holdings has announced a new Web-enabled application that can provide companies with insight into how professional workers are spending their time. This is through the Timekeeper/CS (Client/Server) Professional Time software from Nasdaq-listed Kronos Inc, whose rights CS Holdings owns in South Africa, Timekeeper/CS Professional Time is a data capture tool that enables employees to use the Web, their corporate intranet or PC to record and allocate time spent on a job or project to ensure accurate pay and job costing throughout the enterprise.
Timekeeper/CS Professional Time software provides managers with job-specific labour data to help them accurately determine costs and provide customer and corporate decision-makers with progress reports during any phase of a project. Managers can use the job-specific labour data to establish on-target cost projections for potential customers and make staffing adjustments to stay on schedule and within budget.
"Until now, companies with professional employees had no way of knowing who was working where and when because no one recorded their labour activities as they went from one job to the next. Without an automated labour management system, managers were forced to guess at the amount of time and money spent on each job," says Annette van der Laan, CEO of CS Holdings.
"Timekeeper/CS Professional Time eases this burden by providing employees with a quick and easy way to record their daily activities, while offering managers the data they need to ensure accurate payroll, customer billing and job cost projections."
Tightly integrated with Kronos`s Timekeeper/CS frontline labour management system, Timekeeper/CS Professional Time software enables hourly and salaried professionals including telecommuters, on-site and remote professionals, to log onto the Web or their corporate intranet to record time increments or start and stop times on a per-job basis. Similarly, workers can use their PC to enter labour data directly into Kronos Timekeeper/CS via electronic punch cards called time stamps.
Using incremental labour data captured by Timekeeper/CS Professional Time, managers can compare budgeted with actual costs from one job to the next, enabling them to more accurately justify extra-budget fees and future project costs. Insight into professional workers` labour activities also allows managers company-wide to analyse efficiency levels between employees and departments, and then make operational changes to boost productivity.
Kronos is the world`s No 1 provider of solutions for frontline labour management. Founded in 1977, Kronos has been universally recognised as the pioneer of labour management systems with over 50% market share and 30 000 customers worldwide.
