CS Holdings makes remuneration recommendations to president`s office

In a report to the Independent Commission headed by Justice Richard Goldstone, CS Holdings has made several recommendations for the 2003/2004 financial year on the improvement of matters relating to the remuneration, allowances and benefits of office bearers (including cabinet members, ministers and deputy ministers) across local, provincial and national government.

The report follows the company`s recent winning of a tender distributed by President Thabo Mbeki`s office.

Working in partnership with 21st Century Business and Pay Solutions, CS Holdings carried out a thorough investigation of the existing remuneration processes, to determine whether they are in line with other public and private sector best practices in SA and across the globe. The work involved an exploration of the grading structures, conditions of service, service incentives and remuneration structure, as well as the resources necessary for office bearers to fulfil their duties.

"Our findings are specifically geared to improving the overall effectiveness of the presidential office`s remuneration process, with a view to ensuring a more proactive and streamlined system," says Hayden Morris, CS Holdings business development executive for government and parastatals.

"The partnership between ourselves and 21st Century made for a winning team," he adds. "The process of winning the business and building the capacity as we have done in this instance has resulted in invaluable experience and skills transfer, which has added significantly to our intellectual capital.

"The profile of the client made excellence of execution absolutely critical. Relationships played a critical role in winning this business and, using the project as a door opener, CS Holdings has identified further business opportunities within government," Morris concludes.
