Paint Shop Pro 8, available from global publishing partner, Phoenix Software, offers a new range of customised tools that can be manipulated and altered to suit individual users - even those working on shared computers.
The dynamic personalisation feature allows all tools, palettes, menus and toolbars to be changed and saved, maintaining the user`s preferences for future use.
"Photos can be recreated, manipulated and improved through the use of photo enhancement tools, creative warping brushes, more accessible illustration and text tools, advanced image composition options, filters and special effects," says Robert Hall, country manager for Phoenix Software.
"The software also enables the user to record, edit and save commonly used processes through the use of automated productivity scripts."
Paint Shop Pro 8 also makes erasing backgrounds simpler. Unlike the regular eraser tools on other programs that erase all pixels under the brush, the background eraser detects and erases pixels along the strongest detected edge.
"This allows background areas to be removed by simply brushing around objects. Even areas of fine detail can be detected and preserved from the original photo," Hall says.
Artistic freedom is also catered for in this package with a wider range of brush variances. Brush tip size, opacity, density and hardness can all be varied, as can brush direction, pressure, twist and altitude, enabling each user to create specific images. An element of randomness can also be introduced in the brush stroke to create a natural appearance.
Geared for the professional user, Paint Shop Pro 8 allows Web page designers to create backgrounds with high-quality seamless patterns and tiled images, presentations, photos or other creative projects with Seamless Tiling and the Offset effect.
