Cyberhost selects Conexys SA to deliver new value-added services

Johannesburg, 01 Nov 2001

Conexys SA, the wholly owned local subsidiary of Canadian-based Conexys Corporation Ltd, today announced a channel partnership agreement with Cyberhost, the IT information and knowledge management services and solutions provider. The preliminary value of the deal, for Conexys, is approximately R2 million, with additional revenues to be generated by the extension of the partnership beyond its initial 12-month timeframe.

The agreement will see Cyberhost bundling Conexys` Web-based communications solution, iComMand, into its current service offering, providing its subscribers with additional, valued-added services. iComMand is an application service provider (ASP) solution that brings together voice, fax and e-mail messages over a multimedia platform, accessible from the Web and wired or wireless communications devices.

Managing Director of Cyberhost, Mark Weetman said the partnership falls in line with the company`s vision - following its recent management restructuring - to expand its existing client base through focusing on providing value-added services and solutions that will attract a greater portion of the rapidly growing financial services market.

"Cyberhost`s subscriber base will benefit from new services that include access to full unified messaging, Web Mail and Text-to-Speech functionality, over a completely integrated and accessible multimedia platform. The addition of such value-added services, to be branded as part of the Cyberhost suite of services, is expected to retain the support of the company`s traditional SME customer base - from its Web design and Web hosting services - but will particularly strengthen its move into the financial and corporate applications market," said Weetman.

"Conexys` i-ComMand platform, underpinned by the company`s experience and expertise, provides an ideal delivery mechanism for our e-commerce and e-CRM offerings. Enhancing our ability to deliver such customised solutions will be key to securing a significantly greater segment of the financial services market - potentially significantly increasing our subscriber base over the next one to two years," he added.

Managing director of Conexys SA, Andrew Hill said: "The agreement similarly opens up a stream of potential new customers, in the financial services market, for Conexys and ties in also with holding company, Conexys Corporation`s strategic move to make inroads into new and diverse vertical channel markets.

"Although there are signs of a global economic recession and industries will be looking to tighten their budgets, we believe that now, more than ever, people will rely on rapid communications, using technology that interacts seamlessly with customers, shareholders and employees alike. In bringing to the market an outsourced ASP communications model that offers not only cost savings but also increased efficiency and streamlining, Conexys is well positioned to take advantage of current market conditions," he said.
