Holton & Associates, today announced that it had secured the Southern African rights to distribute the CyberSight range of software products from Cryptic Software. These products utilise a new method of securing and managing IT resources more effectively than ever before, and form part of an organisation`s "good governance" policy.
CyberSight is the only product on the market that can both detect and remove thousands of threats, both old and new, and protect corporate networks and PCs from systems abuse and mis-use by users.
CyberSight`s features include a high-speed, precise scanning process and automated indexing engine and analysis capabilities that enable it to handle millions of threats. Such elements mean it provides much faster, more accurate and more comprehensive protection than any known rival system.
CyberSight is a unique anti-hacking product that protects organisations from both internal and external attack and allows them to enforce their IT security policy right down to the desktop. In addition to hacking software, porn, racist and other offensive pictures are picked up before they can do any damage. Directors, the organisation and staff are thus protected from possible litigation, loss of reputation or sexual harassment.
Until recently hackers were mainly highly technical individuals who invaded systems as an intellectual exercise or for the warped sense of kudos that can be associated with high level security breaches. Now professional hackers have started to write downloadable applications that make hacking as simple as clicking a mouse button.
These hacking tools are not only easy to use but also, worse still, they are often hidden in seemingly harmless downloadable programs like screen savers, utilities and shareware. There are now hundreds of hacking tools available on the web and new ones are being developed all the time.
However, many of these hacking tools are already sitting inside firewalls and have announced their presence to potential hackers by posting messages on newsgroups or e-mailing connection and password information. These tools pose a far greater threat than viruses because they can be deployed without anyone knowing. The damage, perhaps stolen data, may never be discovered and the source never identified.
