D-Link holds tech roadshow

Johannesburg, 20 Feb 2006

D-Link is hosting a roadshow to update its channel partners on the technology expected in 2006.

The roadshow, to be conducted as a series of breakfasts, will take place in Cape Town (9 March), Port Elizabeth (16 March), Durban (30 March) and Johannesburg on 6 April.

"The aim is to update partners and resellers on issues and the D-Link portfolio," says Karien Wood, D-Link Africa`s marketing manager.

Discussions will cover products to be released for SMEs, upcoming industry standards in with special emphasis on the 802.11n standard and viable solutions in networking .

"The upcoming industry standard, 802.11n will be faster than 802.11a/b/g. Once approved, it will eventually replace the other standards because of its speed. Training won`t be necessary for this because the principles remain the same as the previous standards.

"Also to be reviewed will be products and technology proving to be popular and becoming worldwide trends, like triple play," she says.

Tobie Van Schalkwyk, D-Link`s country manager, will be the main speaker at all sessions.
