Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD) has lost its distribution agreement with D-Link, a leading manufacturer of networking, connectivity, and data communications products. This follows a decision by D-Link not to grant sole distribution rights to SDD.
D-Link country manager, Bertus Moller says he is totally committed to the channel. We have two main focus points as far as the dealer and the channel are concerned. We are committed to sell our products through the channel and we believe dealers should have freedom of choice. In sole distribution this is just not possible."
"Like most other leading companies in the world, we too refuse to give any distributor sole distributorship on our products. We believe that no distributor on its own will be able to fulfil the needs of the channel and the vast number of opportunities in the networking arena," says Moller.
The D-Link product range has gained tremendous market share worldwide and in Southern Africa. Moller says he is currently negotiating with other South African and Southern African distributors and new appointments will follow soon.
