To strengthen its digitisation strategy, South African-based MobileData has appointed Chris Daffy as its chief commercial officer with immediate effect.
Daffy, previously business development executive at Gijima, has extensive experience in the mobile and telecommunications market, says MobileData.
According to Daffy's LinkedIn profile, he was also previously MD of Imperial Crown Trading and EcoBlast, and COO of Call Mobility.
"MobileData is perfectly positioned to benefit from the digitisation push currently happening in South Africa," says Daffy.
"The country and the rest of the continent are at the cusp of a brave new world and I intend to assist the company to position its TradeSwitch service delivery platform for this environment."

He believes the future of the connected world lies in the switches that help manage the emerging Internet of things.
For Andr'e Louw, CEO of MobileData, Daffy's appointment heralds an exciting time for the organisation.
"We are looking forward to embracing the digital age through our continually evolving solutions and value propositions. Chris brings a wealth of experience that ties in well with our strategic vision of MobileData for the coming years," says Louw.
In addition to his technology work, Daffy is a breakfast jock on LM Radio.
