Ixchange Technology Holdings ("Ixchange") today announced that Dana Buys, one of the company`s founders and its chairman, is to assume the position of CEO of Ixchange`s US-based subsidiary, GoldMine Software Corporation, effective 1 July 2000.
GoldMine currently represents more than 80% of Ixchange`s business and is poised for significant growth over the next few years. Ixchange predicts that more than 90% of its business will be conducted outside of South Africa by 2001.
"GoldMine is a market leader in the fast growing midrange customer and service management software markets," said Derek Kreunen, CEO of Ixchange. "In order to enhance this leadership position, we recently announced to the market that we are pursuing an aggressive revenue growth strategy. Moreover, it is our stated intention to move GoldMine closer to an IPO on the Nasdaq."
"We have considered head-hunting a new CEO for GoldMine in the US and investigated that route in depth. However, our conclusion is that Dana is the candidate best qualified to lead GoldMine through this important next stage of its growth and development."
Kreunen said that Buys has worked closely with Ixchange`s US operations since its acquisition of Bendata, the leading helpdesk solution provider, in August 1998 and of GoldMine in May 1999. In particular, he played a pivotal role in the successful integration of Bendata and GoldMine under the GoldMine Software Corporation name during 1999, and has the expertise, background and vision to add significant value immediately.
"I look forward to taking up this exciting position at GoldMine," commented Buys. "I will be supported by an excellent executive team at both group and divisional levels and we have the opportunity to build a truly great company over the next few years."
In addition, Buys noted that he will be ideally placed to assist with Ixchange`s international expansion while based in the USA. The company is expected to announce the long-awaited global expansion plans for its Ability division shortly and to launch in the USA the first of the new projects from its Incubator division during the second half of the year.
Buys` position as chairman of Ixchange remains unchanged. Kreunen will focus on Ixchange group matters and the Incubator, backed by Kerstin Speer as financial director. Johan Buys continues to lead the company`s Ability division.
The assignment will require that Buys and his family relocate to GoldMine`s head office, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for a period of up to four years. Buys added that he is committed to returning to the Cape with his family once he has achieved the objectives of his assignment and is not considering immigration.
