Data Pro provides clients with Web site stats

Pro, the leading Service Provider (ISP) and network integrator - part of the JSE-listed Control Instruments group - has introduced a hosting statistics module, a new development that allows it to automate research statistics on behalf of its growing client base.

According to Douglas Reed, managing director of Data Pro, the company has embarked on a new value-added client services programme that sees it deliver, via e-mail, statistics on its clients` web-sites, such as the number of hits per day, new visitors, and average number of hits per given month.

He said it was important that these statistics - fundamentally revolving around Web site usage - be delivered to its clients as effortlessly as possible.

"Certain clients need stats every month, while some only require basic stats of impressions and time of day used every quarter. In addition to this, each client gets their rankings on the major search engines and, as part of our overall service, we will re-submit them regularly to keep their rankings as high as possible".

He said that each search engine has different requirements in order to rank its sites, adding that the company has developed a special software package to create pages and coding more easily in order to speed up, and streamline, submissions to the various search engines.

"Extensive research and vigilance is needed to ensure that our clients` Web sites feature on the search engines. It is an ongoing process and we believe we have developed the software necessary to oversee and control this - and to greatly assist our clients with their Web presence and rankings."
