Datacentrix announces board-level changes

Pretoria, 26 May 2005

Datacentrix Holdings has announced the appointment of two new board members, Thenjiwe Chikane and Alwyn Martin, as independent non-executive directors.

This is effective as of 24 May 2005.

A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Chikane is currently CEO of MGO Consulting, specialising in corporate governance, strategic planning, non-regulatory audits, as well as financial and risk management, and previously held positions including Head of Department of Finance and Economic Affairs in Gauteng, South Africa. Her directorships include Telkom, Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), the Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (PetroSA) and the Mpumalanga Economic Empowerment Corporation (MEEC).

Martin, one of the first three qualified black CAs in the country in 1967, is a founding partner of Christian, Martin and Abrahamse, the first local black CA firm. Over a 17-year period (from 1985 to 2002), he served as a partner at Ernst & Young, chairman at Vodacom, director at Telkom, executive director of Siemens and CEO of Siemens Telecommunications. Since his retirement from Siemens in 2002, Martin has assumed a non-executive role on a number of boards, including Santam Insurance, Credit Guarantee, First National Bank and Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

According to Gary Morolo, executive chairman at Datacentrix, the non-executive appointments highlight Datacentrix`s continued commitment to drive sound corporate governance at all levels of the company. The appointments have the added desired effect of improving the non-executive to executive director ratio as well as increasing the number of independent directors.

"Through these appointments, Chikane and Martin bring to Datacentrix a wealth of experience and influence and will further enhance the group`s profile and culture transformation."

Sam Nematswerani resigns from the board and as the chairman of the audit Committee, and Martin and Chikane join the audit committee with Martin appointed as the new independent non-executive chairman.
