Datacentrix appoints new head of HR

Johannesburg, 19 Sep 2008

IT solutions and services provider Datacentrix has appointed Hellen Mabasa as its Senior Manager of Human Resources with effect from 1 September 2008.

Mabasa's portfolio will include overall management of Datacentrix human resources functions. "We believe that Hellen will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Datacentrix and will assist the company in addressing some of the key challenges we are facing around the retention of high skilled resources," says Ahmed Mahomed, Group CEO.

Mabasa has a BA in Industrial Sociology and Psychology from Wits University and further holds a post-graduate management qualification specialising in human resources from Wits Business School. Her employment background includes such companies as BP Southern Africa and Deloitte, where she specialised in transformation; as well as experience within the IT industry.

"I enjoyed my time within the IT industry and still find it interesting and challenging. There are many issues facing HR within this sector, with the most critical being the retention of highly skilled and necessary employees, skills development and EE," explains Mabasa. "I hope that with my knowledge, we will be able to address some of the challenges facing Datacentrix as far as human resources is concerned," she adds.
