Datacentrix has become first reseller in South Africa to be given the green light to source all HP product direct. Datacentrix, a specialist in implementing large-scale infrastructure solutions to corporates and government, is regarded by HP as one of its leading primary partners to grow HP`s storage and Server (UNIX, LINUX and NT) market share. Datacentrix is currently HP`s largest Netserver reseller.
With the growth that HP is experiencing in the storage market, HP is confident that, with its current rate of growth, it will make dramatic inroads into competitors` market share. HP combines Hitachi technology with its own solution offerings to provide flexible SAN solutions.
Datacentrix has already secured multimillion rand deals for HP storage solutions, including Statistics SA, who awarded Datacentrix a R12 million contract to provide HP equipment - a large portion of which represented a storage area network solution (SAN).
According to HP commercial sales manager Gilbert Farina, HP plans to grow its storage reseller business dramatically for the current financial year. "According to analysts, HP is now a market leader in providing high-end storage solutions. When delivering on these solutions, integration is the key and all our storage suppliers, including Datacentrix, have this competence."

"Unix (HP-UX and Linux) and SANs have the largest growth potential in the ASP and ISP market, and we see Datacentrix playing an important role in penetrating this service provider community," says Dussart. "Datacentrix`s approach to providing large-scale solutions is perfectly aligned with HP`s strategy," says Datacentrix sales and marketing director Klaas Lammers. "We are able to supply the entire HP solution to the customer, and therefore position ourselves as an HP solution provider rather than a hardware vendor."
Datacentrix was the first corporate reseller appointed in South Africa, in 1998.
