Datacentrix executive director and co-founder Klaas Lammers will retire in February.
His retirement was announced in a note to shareholders yesterday, which indicated several board changes.
Among them, the company has made two promotions, taking the board's composition to be 67% composed of black directors with four of five directors being independent.
Lammers said he would explore non IT-related opportunities. "After 20 exciting years with the company, I would like to take the opportunity to take a break and explore other personal opportunities outside of the IT industry.
"I remain a significant shareholder in Datacentrix, which is well positioned to continue its relentless growth since listing eight years ago."
Charl Joubert resigned from the board with effect from yesterday, although he will remain with the company in an executive capacity, to strengthen and grow the ERP business.
"I started the ERP division in Datacentrix and after the early years of success, the business has failed to meet the company's and my own high expectations for it, and I believe it will benefit from focused attention without the other distractions that come from being an executive at board level."
He added that Datacentrix's future growth could stem from this division.
Ahmed Mahomed was promoted to group COO, and will report to CEO Gerhard Uys. Mahomed has been in the IT industry for nine years and was MD of Datacentrix's infrastructure business for the past five years.
The company also announced the appointment of Israel Skosana, a chartered accountant, who yesterday joined the firm as an independent non-executive director.
Datacentrix's shares closed unchanged on the news at R3.20.
