Datacentrix Infrastructure Solutions, part of JSE-listed Datacentrix Holdings, has been awarded the Top IBM Personal Systems Group (PSG) Business Partner of the year.
"Presented at IBM SA`s annual Power of Partnership banquet late in January, the award for the leading player in infrastructure provision in the Intel based product space comes after we increased our focus in IBM products about a year ago when the opportunity arose to source IBM products directly from IBM overseas," explains Datacentrix Infrastructure Solutions sales and marketing director Klaas Lammers.
"In a relatively short space of time we have managed to position ourselves as a strategic IBM partner, significantly increasing our IBM customer base. We are now even better positioned to cater for the needs of the numerous enterprises in South Africa that utilise IBM products. We anticipate positive results in the future as there is scope for growth in the local corporate IBM user market," he continues.
IBM SA, which was one of the global company`s best performers in 2000, achieving a phenomenal 32% growth, held the award ceremony to acknowledge the channel`s contribution to IBM SA`s results.
Speaking at the IBM banquet, IBM SA country general manager Mark Harris said, "IBM globally has huge respect for its Business Partner network. It is the arms and legs of our organisation and without the contribution of our Business Partners, we simply could not grow the business - especially in the kinds of difficult economic circumstances we faced in 2000."
"A crucial element of our Business Partners` ability to contribute to our growth is the fact they understand that we are a complete e-business solution provider and, accordingly, provide a holistic service to our customers," he adds.
IBM says that the awards are based on commitment, skills certification and contribution to revenues. Customer satisfaction is objectively measured at each business partner by independent researchers on IBM SA`s behalf.
