Following an extensive tender process, Thebe Investment Corporation has appointed IT services and solutions provider, Datacentrix, to manage its Microsoft licensing needs, introducing more effective licensing management, establishing one agreement for the entire group, leveraging the benefits of scale and maintaining compliance.
Thebe resolved that Datacentrix offered the best licensing agreement for the entire group, as well as the ability to provide additional solutions and services. According to Aubrey Mace, Datacentrix licensing specialist, Datacentrix`s demonstration of an understanding of the Thebe context and specific licensing requirements was a key consideration in the win with Thebe.
Carolynn Chalmers, Group Chief Information Officer for Thebe Investment Corporation, notes: "In November last year, I commissioned Microsoft to conduct a licensing audit across the Thebe group. The licensing audit initially proved to be an immense challenge because of the size of the Thebe group, which currently has approximately 50 group companies with just over 2 000 employees, with offices spread across South Africa. However, over the past months I`ve been working closely with Datacentrix licensing specialist, Aubrey Mace and his team, and their assistance has led to the successful resolution of all discrepancies uncovered while ensuring on-going compliance."
"By undertaking a project of this type, Thebe will be able to increase visibility across its entire network to manage its licensing more effectively and create greater licensing awareness across the organisation," says Mace.
Datacentrix is a certified Microsoft Large Account Reseller and Enterprise Software Advisor and is one of nine Large Account Resellers licensed to sell Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs.
