DataPro, the Internet service provider (ISP), has become the first premier ISP in the country to obtain ISO 9001:2000 certification.
The scope for gaining ISO 9001:2000 certification applies to the company`s dial-up and leased-line services, as well as shared and co-location server hosting.
Murray Steyn, the project`s manager from DataPro, said the obtaining of the new certification demonstrates the company`s commitment to its customers by continually evaluating and improving its quality management system.
"We are subject to rigorous internal and external audits on a continuous basis to ensure we comply with our goals of providing outstanding customer service and world-class products to our customers. Customers enjoy peace of mind knowing that DataPro has been audited by the SABS and complies with the guidelines as set down by the International Organisation for Standardisation."
ISO 9001:2000 is based on eight quality management principles: customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to making decisions and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
The certification was obtained on 4 June 2004.
