Premier Internet service provider (ISP) DataPro`s latest infrastructure upgrade project is now complete. DataPro now only uses the slower satellite links for redundancy and all International links currently run on the SAT3 fibre optic ring around Africa.
Douglas Reed, MD of DataPro, said the company has spent several million rand on its infrastructure during the last three months to meet its 2003 requirements. Upgrades have been completed in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
"While the ISP market has matured beyond just about providing bandwidth, it is important that the core service levels, that of speed and performance are still one of our major differentiators.
"These basic service levels are essential but providing value-added services is as important, and we have spent a lot of time and money in putting together a host of other services to enable our clients to streamline their businesses and make it easier for them to conduct business."
